Exposing Septic Tank Lids
Cleaning the Effluent Filter
The septic effluent filter located in the septic tank is a cylindrical device that blocks the solid matter from clogging the outlet pipe and drain field in a septic system. Our technicians clean this filter during the service process.
Pumping & Cleaning the Septic Tank
Septic tanks are designed to have solids ( sludge ) sink to the bottom of tank with effluent which is commonly referred to as ( wastewater ) settling in the middle of the tank with scum residing on the top layer. Simply put , our pumper truck vacuums out the contents of the septic tank with our technicians finishing the job by cleaning the walls and bottom of the septic tank. We even take a picture of the final results for the homeowner along with a free homeowner’s septic tank service manual after the job is complete.
Where Does Your Waste Go
Our pumper trucks dispose of your wastewater at many different local wastewater recycling plants but in Raleigh NC, the Neuse River Resource Recovery Facility is the most frequented by our pumper trucks. Many Raleigh homeowners are unaware that their local wastewater treatment facility also farms around 1000 acres
of land which includes a large field of sunflowers and other plants. These beautiful sunflowers along with the other plants soak up the biosolids from the wastewater treatment facility as fertilizer.
The word biosolids is the official term for stabilized sludge left over in the city’s wastewater. The sunflowers and plants soak up the nitrogen-rich biosolids, preventing excess waste run-off into the Neuse River watershed. The sunflower seeds are then harvested and converted to biofuel on-site in a mobile unit in which the City of Raleigh will eventually use to run your local city bus around town. The sunflower field is just one more step for the facility
to reach zero net energy use.
